Jack-Go-to-Bed-at Noon
So-called because of the fact that its flowers like to open really early in the morning, but close again around midday. Sadly, this folklore-rich relative of the humble Dandelion became alarmingly scarce during the 1970s and 1980s and continues to struggle to make any headway thirty years on. However, for a few years now, I’ve been doing a little bit to help them by ensuring that the seeds belonging to many of the ones I stumble across are relocated in the most appropriate places…and, I pleased to say, it seems to be working!
Something about this photograph makes it look a little bit like a sketch or painting of some sort.
